Pricing & Budgeting
3 questionsHow much do Polar Plank Cabin Premium Log Home Packages cost?+
Standard home packages start at $109,500 for Floor Plan 1 (24'x28') up to $189,500 for Floor Plan 4 (30'x40'). If you're interested in customizing your home, contact us for an accurate quote tailored to your specific design. Please note that projects include additional expenses beyond the package (site prep, foundation, crane, and mechanicals). We provide an official Cabin Build Client Worksheet & Budget Guide to help you plan the full scope of potential costs.
What does the starting package price include?+
The package arrives with all major components to create a complete dried-in shell: pre-built insulated log wall panels (R-32), factory stain, double-pane windows, exterior doors, pre-cut roof rafters, ridge beam, sheathing, felt, ice & water shield, fascia, interior stud framing bundle, second-floor joists, subfloor, stair stringers/treads, trim, and T&G ceiling paneling.
What additional project expenses should I expect?+
To complete your home, you or your contractor will coordinate site preparation & excavation, foundation, first-floor deck, crane/boom truck rental, assembly labor, final roofing (metal/shingle), interior electrical, plumbing, heating, drywall, cabinetry, flooring, permits, and utility hookups.
Shipping & Alaska Delivery
2 questionsWhich areas do we ship to?+
At Polar Plank we never want delivery challenges to keep you from your log cabin dreams. We coordinate logistics on your behalf so you have one less thing to worry about. We currently ship anywhere along the Alaska road system through Carlile Transportation. For locations off the road system, we work with the Alaska Marine Highway to package our Premium Log Home Packages for barge transport, and we arrange air freight options for other remote location deliveries. No matter where you plan to build, we will help you determine the best route to get your home to your site. (*All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer and are quoted based on route).
Can packages be delivered to remote off-grid bush sites?+
Yes. Remote and off-grid delivery is a core part of what makes Polar Plank unique. Wall panels are weatherproof-wrapped and dimensioned for secure transit via highway flatbed, barge landing craft, or specialized air cargo.
Construction & Builders
4 questionsWhich areas do we build in?+
Our Premium Log Home Packages are designed in Alaska to be built anywhere in Alaska! Whether you are an experienced or confident DIY-er, or working with a local General Contractor, our packages allow you to customize your build while saving time and money. The result is a durable, energy-efficient log home that outperforms traditional stick-frame construction.
Do we have a showroom available for touring?+
Yes! We have smaller cabins currently available to walk through in Soldotna. Please call us at (907) 215-1927 or (907) 420-7756 to schedule your private tour.
How fast can the walls be erected?+
Because wall panels arrive pre-built with factory insulation and precut joinery, an experienced crew with a boom truck or mobile crane can erect standing walls in just 1 to 2 days (as seen in our 12-hour cabin assembly time-lapse).
Can I use my own contractor or build it myself?+
Yes. Many clients hire their own licensed general contractor, while confident DIY owner-builders often erect their own shells. We provide full technical support, crane rigging guidelines, and assembly plans for your builder.
Financing & Energy Incentives
2 questionsDoes Polar Plank offer financing?+
Polar Plank does not offer in-house financing at this time. However, Polar Plank Premium Log Home Packages can be financed through a traditional mortgage as part of a New Construction Loan. Your local mortgage lenders can walk you through their programs and requirements. These loan options typically allow you to work with a local residential contractor or builder of your choice. Because Polar Plank homes are so energy efficient, be sure to ask about interest-rate incentives and energy-efficiency rebates available for qualifying 5-Star+ and 6-Star homes.
What wall R-values and energy ratings do your panels achieve?+
Our standard insulated wall panels deliver R-32 thermal resistance and qualify for 5-Star+ and 6-Star energy ratings. For Interior Alaska, Fairbanks, and extreme sub-zero regions, we offer an upgraded R-50 wall specification with zero thermal bridging.
Design & Customization
2 questionsCan I provide my own floor plan?+
Yes! We offer flexible customization options and are happy to work from floor plans you already have. We adapt your architectural drawings to our patented insulated panel system so you get a home tailored to your exact vision.
What siding and stain options are available?+
We offer three exterior profiles: authentic D-Log siding for timeless cabin charm, modern Shiplap for crisp contemporary lines, and rugged Metal Cladding for extreme weather resilience. Packages can be pre-stained in three premium tones or left unstained if you prefer custom finishing.
